Supporters

EBVP is grateful to have supporters providing food, handcrafted bowls, silent auction items and entertainment for our event. Fine local establishments have committed to donating soups, bread, and dessert.  Individual artists and craftsmen are donating handcrafted bowls or fine art in different media for the silent auction.  Local businesses are donating goods and services for the silent auction as well.  Several local musicians are participating by performing at the event.

Hunger in the US and the Peninsula

“In the United States, more than one out of six children lives in a household with food insecurity, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.2 million children under 18 in the United States live in this condition – unable to consistently access nutritious and adequate amounts of food necessary for a healthy life.” Source: Feeding America

In the cities and counties served by the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, 71,840 people are suffering with food insecurity. Click here: http://hrfoodbank.org/Learn/local-hunger.html to find out more about hunger in your community.
